A Season of New Beginnings for Weise Farms

As we reflect on the journey of our Wagyu cattle, we are filled with gratitude for the blessings God has bestowed upon us.
As you may recall, we sold our original Wagyu bull and bought a new one last year. Our latest calf born yesterday is one of the last ones born from our previous bull.
Starting in April, all our new calves will be sired by our new bull, “Emperor,” marking a fresh chapter in our breeding program for increased marbling in our future beef offerings.
In our daily conversations with God, we've been pondering the future of our growth at Weise Farms. Now that Tim is retired, our dreams to expand are becoming a reality, and we’ve felt inspired to keep heifers, allowing us to grow our herd.
In His perfect timing, God has answered our prayers abundantly, blessing us with a significant number of heifers this year. This growth is not just a business venture; it feels like He has given us the answers we were praying about as we were seeking His guidance in every step toward new opportunities. We have recently welcomed new customers from the Austin, Houston, and Bryan College Station areas, for which we feel so much gratitude.

The weaned calves at The Pietsch Place in Warda require feeding of round bales due to extreme drought. This is something that usually doesn't happen until later in the year. The ground needs rain for grass to grow. This picture was taken a few days after 2" of rainfall.
However, with growth comes concern. We are closely monitoring the developments surrounding the New World Screw Worm, a serious threat to cattle ranchers that could impact our beloved animals. As we focus on expanding, we humbly request prayers for protection against this potential devastation.
The weather has also been a topic of discussion. We are grateful for the recent 2 inches of rain, yet the drought lingers. To prepare for the possibility of limited grass, we’ve already purchased three loads of round bales.
Water in our tanks is also a significant concern as we manage our herd and the land.
In addition to the cattle, Tim has been nurturing a beautiful garden. There was a threat of low temperatures dipping into the 30s last night, and with a little help from our grandchildren in helping us cover as much as possible, most of the plants will make it. We trust that with care and God's blessings, we will overcome any challenges that come our way.

As we navigate growth, weather challenges, and the uncertainties of farming and ranching, we remain steadfast in our faith, grateful for every blessing and inviting you to join us in our journey. Together, let us pray for protection, sustenance, and continued blessings.
We would love to hear from you! If you have any insights, experiences, or stories to share, please write back to us.
Your thoughts and support mean the world to us as we continue this journey together.
