Weise Farms Wagyu — "My Bull" Emperor

Updated: Jun 9

If KR Ito Tayashu was the foundation of Weise Farms, then LRX-TX Emperor U308 is the future of Weise Farms Wagyu — and what a future it is.

Emperor came to Weise Farms as a young bull. He is registered in the American Wagyu Association, and the Australian Wagyu Association. He is one of the top marbling bulls in the world. We cannot wait to see what he brings to the table.

Weise Farms Wagyu Gets a World-Class Bull

When we called Kenny Landgraf to talk bulls, we trusted him. We had bought some Wagyu cow/calf pairs from Landgraf Ranch over the years, and Kenny knows Wagyu. He told us about Emperor, and honestly, it didn't take long for us to get excited. Emperor is registered in both the American Wagyu Association and the Australian Wagyu Association, and his genetics are the kind that make serious Wagyu breeders sit up straight. Rankings change weekly, but he is consistently ranking in the top single digits for Wagyu Breeding Values, also known as WBVs.

When we saw what Emperor brought to the table, we knew he was an upgrade that we needed to make.

The Day Emperor Came Home to Weise Farms

We brought him home in May of 2025, all black, young, and still with plenty of growing to do.

We put Emperor in the pasture near our backyard to give him time to settle in before introducing him to the herd. It did not take long to realize he was lonely out there. He is a big pet who follows us around like a puppy, and a pasture all to yourself is no fun when you have that kind of personality.

So we called Kenny to see if he had a heifer Emperor could have as a companion. What happened next is one of the best stories we have ever had the privilege of telling. But you're gonna have to wait to hear that story until next week.

Emperor Became a Daddy.

We are so excited because Emperor sired his first calf at Weise Farms yesterday — and we could not be more excited. In about thirty months we will get to see what this marbling ranking is all about!!!

The best is still ahead of us. But while Emperor is busy building that future, we have steaks and half calves available right now at weisefarms.com — all raised with the same love and care that Weise Farms is known for.

Prayers Requested

We would like to ask for your prayers. Several confirmed cases of the New World Screwworm have been found just three hours away from Weise Farms, and yesterday one of our young calves got a cut that we are watching very closely. We are taking every precaution, but we are asking God's protection over our herd. We appreciate the prayers.

Next time — You'll meet the heifer who crossed an ocean, stole our hearts, and arrived at Weise Farms to the tune of "My Girl."

God bless you and your family, always. — Becky & Tim Weise

Weise Farms Wagyu Beef Filet Mignon

OMG! That filet was amazing. Coarse salt and pepper crusted, wrapped in bacon, seared in a smoking hot cast iron skillet, flipped and  finished in a 500 degree oven. Killer!

We had a couple of friends over Saturday and I served them Weise Farms wagyu smoked beef ribs. They melted in your mouth!! The flavor was rich and creamy.
