Beef Cheek Barbacoa, piled into tortillas with avocado, pico, and a little sour cream. These were the exact tacos Tim made for my birthday! They were so good!

Weise Farms Wagyu Beef Cheek Barbacoa Tacos Recipe is one of those things many people have never cooked, mostly because it's hard to find at the store. But that's the beauty of buying from a local farmer. We love using all of the animal. It's easy to do, because it's slow-cooked until it shreds apart on its own, it turns into some of the richest, most tender meat you'll ever put in a tortilla. This is a crockpot recipe that you start in the morning and cook all day. When you get home, the wonderful aroma will greet you at the door, and guess what? It's ready!

Ingredients

  • 1–3 lbs beef cheeks

  • 1 red, yellow and orange bell pepper, chopped or sliced.

  • 2-3 Jalapeño peppers without seeds, chopped or sliced.

  •  Salt, to taste

  •  1/4 tsp cumino seeds, toasted & ground, or bought spice

  •  1/2 small to medium onion, chopped

  •  4 cloves garlic, finely diced

  •  Black pepper, to taste

  •  Chili powder, to taste

  •  Quart of Beef broth

  •  Avocado slices

  •  Sour cream

  • Pico de Gallo

  • Cilantro

Directions

  • Place all ingredients in a Slow Cooker

  • Set to slow and cook all day, or medium for a half day

  • The meat should shred easily and is perfect for tacos

  • Top with pico, sour cream, avocado slices and fresh cilantro

  • Serve

Our Wagyu Beef cheeks are just one more way we make sure nothing from the animal goes to waste — and one more reason to buy from a farmer instead of a store shelf.

Give Becky a call or text at (979) 540-7164 and we'll get you a weight and price based on what's available, or place a deposit on a half-calf and beef cheeks come right along with it.

Weise Farms Wagyu Beef Filet Mignon

OMG! That filet was amazing. Coarse salt and pepper crusted, wrapped in bacon, seared in a smoking hot cast iron skillet, flipped and  finished in a 500 degree oven. Killer!

We had a couple of friends over Saturday and I served them Weise Farms wagyu smoked beef ribs. They melted in your mouth!! The flavor was rich and creamy.
