I stood at the edge of the garden the other morning and just stopped.

After all the work — the planting, the replanting after the freeze, the watering, the waiting — the rain came. And when it did, this garden took off like it had something to prove.

This garden is full and it is thriving. The Weise Farms garden harvest will include multiple varieties of tomatoes, sweet peppers, jalapeños, cucumbers, yellow squash, zucchini, red potatoes, carrots, purple onions, yellow onions, shallots, green beans, cantaloupe, and watermelon. And the herb garden is holding its own too — dill, cilantro, basil, thyme, bay leaves and oregano are all coming in beautifully.

When the harvest is ready, we will have far more than we can use ourselves — and that means fresh, heirloom garden produce will be available for our customers.

A Blessing We Didn't Take for Granted

Texas farmers know that rain is never guaranteed. After we lost tender plants to that late freeze a few weeks ago and replanted from scratch, watching this garden respond to the rainfall has been one of those quiet moments where you just feel the blessing of it. The soil drank it in, the roots grabbed hold, and now everything is reaching toward the sun with everything it's got.

That's what farming teaches you. You do the work, you trust God and the process, and you stay grateful when the skies open up and cooperate.
