Countdown to Retirement

Ten-Nine-Eight-Seven.... It's New Year's Eve and Tim is on the countdown to retirement. January 9 will be his last day. He started working at Kaemark in Giddings at the age of 14, hired by Gilbert Krause.
His self-proclaimed title of Maintenance Engineer involved sweeping the floors and general cleanup. During the summer, age 15, he started cutting on the saws.

Over the years Kaemark grew, and Tim became “the” wood cutter for the entire plant. At one time he kept over 100 workers busy in projects that started on his saw.
Time flew by, and eventually Tim became a true engineer, programming what the designers drew.
I'm sure Tim will miss working at Kaemark, but we've been doing a little growing of our own over the past ten years, and Weise Farms will keep Tim plenty busy in the years to come.
Raising beef and selling it directly to consumers is something Tim and I both love. And this is what we'll be doing more of in the years to come.
Life on the Farm
This is a baby wagyu calf that was born on Weise Farms. They are so tiny when they are born, between 50-60 pounds. That doesn’t mean they are frail. By no means... They are born spry and masters at evading capture.

This particular calf is 50% wagyu and 50% angus. Shortly after the picture was taken of this baby, he was caught, banded and tagged by Tim. He was raised by his momma at our home place until he was six months old, weighing anout 400 pounds. After weaning, calves live on the pasture at our place in Warda until they are 18 months old, when we bring them back home to finish.

This is what he looked like a year ago when we brought him back home from Warda weighing 707 pounds at 18 months old. He loved being hand-fed, and he would get very excited to see us as we walked out of our front door just on the other side of the fence from where he is standing.

And look at him now. What a magnificent animal he is, living his very best life on Weise Farms.
Beef that is loved is more tender!
The reason I wanted to share this with you is because I want our customers to see how we raise our beef.
We welcome you to try some if you haven’t before.
This beautiful creature will be harvested on January 20. Half is available for someone’s freezer, with the other half providing delicious beef for our monthly beef subscribers.
Farm to Freezer Delivery
And since Tim is retiring, he will deliver this one to your freezer within a reasonable proximity. This may be something we continue, but this first one will be on a trial basis.
We are making every effort to keep our price at $7.50 per pound hanging weight, including the cost of processing. This is the same price we have been charging for the past five years.
Placing a deposit today locks in today’s price, and the deposit helps us with expenses during the three years it takes to raise our animals from birth to harvest age.
Place a deposit today and fill your freezer with healthy and delicious wagyu beef at a fraction of the cost of single cuts.
Thanks to our wonderful customers and Christmas gifting, we are sold out of the primes until the January calf is ready from the processor. Rest assured, we always keep enough beef on hand for our monthly beef subscribers. If you'd like to join the meat club, we would love it. Give it a try and taste the difference. There is no contract. Cancel anytime you'd like.
As 2025 draws to a close and 2026 begins, Tim and I wish you all a Happy New Year filled with joy and blessings. Set one of your New Year's resolutions to eating healthier with farm raised beef from Weise Farms. Thank you for being the best part of Weise Farms.
