How We Raise Wagyu Beef
We do not take our animals to a feedlot. We raise our wagyu beef from birth to harvest right here on our farm. Our cattle enjoy a natural life, roaming on pastures until it is time to finish them. They are loved and cared for every day.
Importantly, we never give our cattle hormones, steroids, or antibiotics. Our beef contains no additives or preservatives. It is not injected with water, nor does our ground beef have artificial colors or any pink slime.
Our animals are slow-grown. When it is time to finish them, we use an award-winning ration locally milled by Grimm Feed in Giddings, Texas. Their feed does not come in bags, ensuring it is fresh and high-quality.
Does Our Feed Contain Corn?
Yes, it does. Contrary to popular belief, corn is not bad for you. Many have tried to convince us that tallow was harmful, just as they want us to think corn is bad. New studies are emerging, proving that our understanding of many food components has been misguided.
Tallow is actually healthier than many seed oils, and corn is now emerging as a beneficial component in our diets.
Interestingly, our prime-fed wagyu beef is healthier for you than grass-fed options, including our own grass-fed. The chart below from Texas A&M University Animal Science showcases valuable information relevant to this topic.

The Controversial Topic of GMOs
Let’s address the elephant in the room—GMOs. Did you know that over 95% of animals raised for meat and dairy in the U.S. consume GMO crops? Our cattle follow this trend. The remaining 5% of livestock is likely grass-fed. However, research indicates that grass-fed animals can have higher saturated fatty acids than grain-fed ones.
Do GMOs Transfer into the Food You Eat?
Research shows that meat, eggs, and dairy products from animals that consume GMO feed are safe and nutritious for humans.
The DNA from GMO feed does not transfer into the DNA of the animal that eats it. This means that the meat, eggs, or milk from these animals do not contain GMO DNA.
We believe our 100% J. Black (Japanese Black) Wagyu is the healthiest of all beef. This study and others confirm it. Here is an article I wrote that explains more about it: Oh Mega 3.
